Thank you for visiting our website. We welcome you!
On our site you will read just some of what First Church is all about. We hope that what you read will prompt a visit when you can see for yourself how we "walk the talk."
Our Vision Statement
Everyone is welcome at First United Methodist Church of Elmhurst - a caring Christian community. We are a progressive congregation affirming diversity and embracing thinking, exploring and questioning as part of a faithful search for a closer relationship with God. We seek opportunities to worship, learn, connect and serve in ways that put Jesus' life and teachings into action.
We invite you to join us in person. Our Worship Services are at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with nursery care available for infants and toddlers throughout the morning. Church School is from 9:15-10:15 a.m. for ages 3 through 12th grade along with our Adult Education series. Visitors are always welcome!
- At our 10:30 worship service, children age 3 through kindergarten join their family until the Children's Word, then have the option to leave with the caregivers to the Rainbow Room where their fellowship continues.
- During your visit, please feel free to ask an usher, greeter or any church member if you have any questions about First Church. Fellowship after both worship services allows us to connect with each other and provide you with the opportunity to find out more about our congregation.
- If you would like to explore more about First Church, we periodically hold an 'Explorers' Class'. These classes are designed to provide prospective new members as well as current members with more detailed insights into our church and the United Methodist denomination.
- Please see the Newsletter tab for the current issue of our monthly newsletter "The Visitor," to learn more about current activities and events here with our congregation. There's always something great going on at First Church!
