  • Family Shelter Service, aid for domestic violence community - www.familyshelterservice.org
  • Communion and visitation for our homebound members
Some of the national and international projects we support include:
Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS)

The first weekend of every month from October to April, our church supports the Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) homeless shelter at St. Alexis Church in Bensenville.  Volunteers are always needed for this ministry to help make beds, provide meals, stay overnight, clean up or do laundry.  Families are welcome. Team Leaders are needed to coordinate the various shifts.

Community Clothing Center

The Clothing Center is housed here on the lower level of First Church.  The center is open to clients the first Thursday of every month from 9-11 a.m. and 7-9 p.m., and the third Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-12 noon.
Donations may be dropped off at any time by entering through the single red door on the north entrance (entrance to Raggedy Anne Learning Center) and leaving items at the bottom of the stairs.  Tax receipts are available in the clear pocket on the wooden entry door.

In addition to adult and children's clothing such as pants, shirts, sweaters, skirts and dresses and jackets, the Clothing Center welcomes donations of socks, shoes and boots, purses, accessories, jewelry, bedding, blankets, housewares, toys, books and games, and kitchen items.  No furniture please.

Yorkfield Food Pantry

Don’t forget your food donations to Yorkfield Food Pantry (place them in the shopping cart in Wesley Hall). The Food Pantry is seeing an increase in services due to the economy, approximately 300-400 families a month. All donations are welcomed.  Items that are always needed include canned goods, pancake mix, syrup, cereal, cake mixes, prepared dinners and other non-perishable items.  The Pantry is operated by volunteers from the Yorkfield Presbyterian Church.  For more information visit www.eypc.org/foodpantry.html.
